I was 15 and on vacation where we went every year (so I knew this boy for a couple years) we went to a local diner and I was terrified of eating in front of him, so I ordered what I thought would be small and dainty...Stir Fry. He ordered a steak and potatoe. Perfect I thought. They brought my meal out and it was HUGEEEEEEE Piled HIGH. He had filet mignion,,TEENY TINY and a TINY potatoe. I was starving but hardly ate anything. When they came out, they put my food in this aluminum foil and folded it all up, then I squished it down. Eric looked at me and said "did you see what it was"? He then asked if I was ready to go home. He poured me into his car and suggested we go to his place as it was closer. He stopped for a traffic light; I got out and started to walk home—through the worst part of town. He followed, trying to talk me back into the car—I think because he felt a little responsible for unleashing me on an unsuspecting world. A police car pulled up; one officer talked to me and the other to my erstwhile date. The only id I had on me was my library card. The cops talked me into getting back into my date’s car; they followed us to my apartment. One of the officers walked me to my door and insisted on waiting until I locked it behind me. I never heard from that guy (or the cops) again. Everywhere we went his friend was there. It was awful. Then when he dropped me off he said, "My ex-girlfriend called me up last night. She wants to get back together." That was that. I am believing there was no ex-girlfriend. What a creep. I was such a nice and pretty girl back then, too. Oh well, his loss. Hey sissy, did you get the email I sent you that Vish asked me to be Guest Ed. on Feb. 29? I wanted you to write me or call me about it. I have a question for you. Everyone told me to go, as he was rich and good looking~ me being shallow back then agreed. He took me out to a real nice place, we had a good meal- but he hardly talked the whole time. I had to keep coming up with things to talk about andask him- but he'd give like one or two word replies! Chalking it up to his being shy, I agreed to see him again- but it was the same thing. We also attended a work party, but he satin the corner all night. I just had to tell him we'd always be friends but that's it. I couldn't take it!
