just stuff

Long time, no write.  And I have no good reason.  Well, maybe being busy with life is a good reason.  Trying to catch up on twelve months of life quickly is crazy.

And sandwiched in with all the errands have been some important events.  Such as John's birthday on the 3rd.  That was lots of fun.  My parents got him a cake.  I made him spaghetti with turkey meatballs and shrimp.  Just a little experiment and it came out well.  I was going to use ground beef, but the store was out of the quality stuff, so I got the ground turkey.  It was good!

I have taken the time to watch some funny movies lately.  I have found some really inexpensive ones at Wal-Mart.  They are good movies, and family friendly.  Anyway, a couple of nights ago, John and I purchased some things, and we were walking out the door of Wal-Mart, and this loud alarm goes off.  So we stop and I tell the man who surrounds us that it must be the CDs.  Sure enough, the cashier forgot to remove something on the CDs, thus causing the alarm to go off.  Meanwhile, those walking by are staring at us.  The fact that John has a mask on doesn't help, LOL.

John wears that mask everywhere now because his counts are low, and it confuses people.  He wears it so he doesn't catch anything, but a lot of people think he wears it because he is contagious.  They run from him because they don't want to catch anything.  Some think he is a robber and is going to hold them up.  We went to a local convenience store the other night, late at night.  Everybody in there stopped dead in their tracks, even our neighbor who knows us, LOL.  They all looked at John with that mask on.  It covers his face except for his eyes.  They froze until he bought his milk and loaf of bread, LOL.  Then he left the store.  John said often that police stop at that store, making sure nobody is robbing.  I told him I would get him a T-shirt that read:  "Don't shoot.  I had a transplant!"

Oh, I forgot to mention.  For John's birthday I got him two pairs of jeans.  And I also got him two pairs for Christmas.  Because he had NONE left that fit him.  He has lost 65 lbs.  Actually he looks quite svelte, LOL.

I also have a few new outfits.  The most beautiful stuff I have had in years.  Christmas presents.  I feel like a girl again, LOL, instead of a boy.  Perhaps I will have John take some photos so I can show you.  Thank you, Sweeties, who gave me my Christmas presents!

Well, I guess I better get off now.  I am not feeling the best.  I had a migraine yesterday and felt kind of yucky today.  Sorry if I have not had the time to get around to reading many journals.  I am hoping to feel better tomorrow.

Love you all,  Krissy :)

  7. LOL - I think you should get that t-shirt!  That's so funny and it would put people's mind at ease.  It's so nice to hear that you guys are doing regular stuff like going to WalMart and buying bread and milk.  What a joy those little things must be after all you've been through.  Prayers are continuing your way!
    Hugs,  Kathy

  8. Don't feel bad about sounding the alarm on the way out.  Jennifer and I do it almost every time we get a CD or DVD.  The cashiers don't deactivate the sensor like they should.  Its funny, cause when we do the self checkout we are able to deactivate it just fine.  It is a little embarrassing to get stopped by the Wal Mart greeter who has to look in all of your bags.

  9. Lol at John! When I was in China last month lots of people wore masks because of the pollution. It's so good to know John is out and about now. Happy belated birthday to him! Have a great Sunday! Jeannette xx

  15. Wow I am glad John had a good birthday!  As for the reaction to the mask.  People can be so stupid.  I've seen that reaction before from folks and it just makes me shake my head at their ignorance.  :-)

You guys have a great day.

  17. I was laughing at your tags. LOL  You are silly.  That must be hard for John having people stare at him.  I remember when people use to stare at me after my brain surgeries.  I had a big bandage on the back of my neck.  I would have people say, "Wow, she was shot in the neck!" real loud and stuff like that. LOL  Weird how people are.  Glad John had a good birthday.  So sorry I haven't been able to see you guys =(... Maybe soon I can.  We will see.  Love you guys!!!! xoxoxoxox

  18. Hope by now you are feeling better Krissy...hope that migraine is gone. Sounds like John had a great birthday...happy for him. The meal sounded wonderful. People are so ignorant of mask, they are worn for a reason...to protect him!  Hope you have a wonderful week ahead...make it a good one. Hugs and love always,
    Joyce

  28. OH Krissy, people are so strange. My sister broke her ankle and had surgery months ago so I go to her house and run errands for her. Well, she likes to use those moble carts, so I go into the store to get one for her. I ride it out and I cant tell you how many people stare....I think if everyone could be handicapped for one day, we would get a huge wake up call on how ignorant so many can be.

I am glad you and John kept your sense of humor about it. Please tell him happy be lated birthday and you and he, are in my prayers....~Raven
