Hi, we're home!

Hi!  Just wanted to let you all know that John and I are home.  We went to his appointment yesterday in Hershey at his transplant center.  There were a few things wrong with him, but fortunately his fever had come down.  So we did not have to stay overnight.  But he was very low on red blood cells.  So they put him in the hospital for the day and gave him two bags of red blood cells.  It took all day and we got home about eleven at night.  But at least we got home last night!  Yay!  John was feeling weak before the cells but is feeling extremely better now that he has gotten the blood.  They gave him an appointment to come back in three weeks.  Meanwhile, he has to get his blood drawn three times a week locally, and I guess they will transfuse him locally again if he needs it.

Oh sheesh, I just talked to John, he took his temp this morning a little while ago and his temp was 102.2.  That's high for a bone marrow transplant patient.  I hope we don't have to go back to Hershey.  Stay tuned...

  1. hope all goes well

  2. oh man, sending you a prayer that he does'nt have to go back to hospital. keep us posted. (((hugs))) Cindy

  3. Hi Krissy,  I hope all goes well with John.  Take care both of you. :o)

    Sandra xxxx

  4. Glad you're home for the time being.  Hopefully, it will be a long term arrangement.

  5. hoping John's temp doesn't put you back on the road to Hershey and that you can stay put at home Krissy and get some rest for the two of you

  6. I wish I could throw some healthy fairy dust on him make him all better.  But in the mean time I'll send best wishes & prayers...

  7. Good to hear that things were more or less OK on check-up, except the red cell count. 102.2 is high for anyone, certainly for someone in John's condition. Echo hopes that this is temporary.

  8. good to hear that you are home!! happy he felt better after the red blood cells.  i hope he feels better and his fever goes down soon. take care

God still sits on the throne.

Each and everyone one of us are going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.

  20. Great to hear.  Sorry his fever is back up.  Hopefully it'll come right back down.  So glad  you got to come right home.

  21. I am glad you didn't have to stay, but darn it!  He has another fever! Hope it works out!  Keep us posted!  Jae

  22. I'm so happy your home and didn't have to stay. I have been praying and thinking about you both. I hope his temps go down. I'm happy he's feeling a little bit better since he has the blood. Hugs to you.

  23. It is good that John's condition shows improvement along with the intermittent fever.     I saw my doctor today as I have been having severe pain in my left hip.   I asked him if the area I pointed to as being extremely painful would indicate the hip socket and he said no and that it is probably bursitis.     That is a relief even though the pain is awful.      I rested this afternoon and then around 4:30 pm worked on my addition construction a little.     I am just on the computer a little each day and am trying to visit journals and get the number of emails/alerts down from 400 the other day.     Wishing you both the best and I think John will continue to show improvement.        mark

I would love to hear from you. Now is your chance! So what do you want to say?
