hey, we're still over here at the hospital!

Hi you all.

So, John and I are, like, still in Hershey.  He is having more tests done.  Dr. Claxton wants to know where the fevers are coming from.  Even though they are not occurring now,  Dr. Claxton doesn't feel the issue is resolved, so we have to stay around the hospital at least until Friday night so John can take more tests.

It's been a strange week.  On Monday we were told we could go home, and then when we almost walked out the door we were asked to please not leave, so John could get additional tests done this week.  I like it better this way, because we would have just had to go home, and come back in a week for John to do the tests anyway.  But still, I am ready to go home.

There is nothing new here, really.  Other than medical tests, and cleaning, there is not a lot to do here.  Neither John nor I are driving here in Hershey right now.  My narcolepsy is still not under control well enough; I don't feel comfortable with driving long distances yet.  And John isn't feeling his best either.  Neither of us were even able to get the car up here.  So we can't go too far, and sit around the Lodge a lot.  I am really going to be glad when my neurologist adjusts my narcolepsy medicine.

I almost never get bored and I actually got bored today, LOL.  I was actually sitting on the couch singing a "Bored as a Gourd" song, LOL.  I told John that I can't imagine that we stayed here for 10 weeks after his bone marrow transplant.  And I think there were other times we stayed here as long, or close to it.  How did we do it???

I guess I am just longing for home, and a "normal" life.  Whatever that is.  I can't really remember.  Normal, just for a few days.  Just for a little respite, LOL.

I am saying this because I think John may have some more treatment in the days ahead, for side effects of the transplant.  They doctors don't even know where the fevers are originating from and are throwing out ALL KINDS of ideas.

Wow, I am tired.  And I want my kitty.

Love you all,  Krissy  :)

  10. Krissy, I understand your longing for normalcy.  Boy, do you need it.  I also think you need answers about the reason(s) for John's fevers, & I pray that the doctors can give that to you.  I don't know how you do it, you have spent so much time away from home.  I really hope your narcolepsy medication gets adjusted so you don't have to deal with that, and it would be WONDERFUL if you could drive again.  I bet you do miss your kitty, I would miss my dogs the same way.  Oh, Kirssy, most people gripe when they have a normal life about things, but your life has been handed so many obstacles, that you just want "normal."  All of us want you back, but with some of your questions re: John answered & your questions about your narcolepsy medications somewhat settled.  I miss you to pieces, Krissy.  Big (((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Merry

  11. I think that the fact that you are bored is a GOOD thing! When you spent so much time at Hershey before you were so worried, scared and concerned that you didn't have time to be bored.... Therefore, boredom is a good sign that John is doing better. LOL! Never though boredom was a good thing, did ya??

  19. Know it's not easy having to stay there, but John's fevers need to be checked out, thankfully sounds like he has good medical folks there.  Like all of us, you wouldn't want to be any other place, but understand missing being at home and in your own environment and being to do what you want or just relaxing.....it's hard being away from the homefront. Hope they get your meds adjusted soon Krissy. You and John always are in my special prayers.....hang in there dear..Arlene (AJ)

  22. I can imagine how bored you must be but it is all for the best Krissy as you say.  Rather have all the tests now and get to the bottom of it all than go home and then have to go back.  That day will come, what a day of joy that will be.  Keeping you in prayer.

  23. Krissy, I know you are bored and want to be home with Michael.  You two have been through so much but all this will soon be in the past and John will be well and your sleep meds will be adjusted just right and you can live a normal life.  You and John are such a inspiration to me.  My prayers are always with you. Love and hugs to you both.        Love Myke

  28. I'm sorry this is soooo hard and you and John.
I wish things would hurry up and go back to normal.
I went last week and tried to give blood again--it's my 3rd time--I was hoping it was going to be a charm--but I was unable to because of my iron count--I was soooooo irritated.
I took my Dad with me though--and he gave a pint.
I will keep you both in my prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hugs,
    jay

  29. Best wishes to you and John Krissy!  I'm sorry you have had to stay in Hershey.  It will make going home all that much better though.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I think.  I hope you are having a nice weekend.  Love, Shelly

  30. Hi Krissy- even through your agrivations- you still make me smile (bored as a gourd!)  I do pray they will eventually figure it out and John will be able to get better.  I pray you guys will be able to go home soon and STAY HOME!  I guess Michael misses you as much as you miss him- but he might get a little annoyed by your absence.  I know my cat used to get that way whenever I had to leave for a few days even.  God Bless you both- you're always in my thoughts too!  Carolyn :)
