my photo scavenger hunt photos

At present, the Photo Scavenger Hunt is being hosted by Val of There is a Season.  I haven't been able to run it for awhile, so Val has been  running it for me.  She has done a fabulous job!  For this week's subject, she has chosen Autumn.

These are Fall flowers on my patio.  They are called Icicle Pansies.  They bloom all throughout Autumn.  As a matter of fact, they continue to bloom throughout the Winter, even during snowfalls.  I love their rich colors, and think they are a vibrant alternative to the changing Fall leaves.

This bird feeder in my backyard also represents Autumn to me.  Since there's a greater scarcity of food in Autumn, John and I fill a bird feeder every year.  We love to watch the birds come.  Michael enjoys it also, and looks out the window, pretending he is catching the birds!  He can watch them for hours.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Fall.  Krissy :)

  2. What kind of tree is that birdfeeder hanging from? Beautiful pansies. God is such a wonderful artist. I love how He paintbrushes the world for us.

  3. lovely pictures...I'm going to look for that type of pansy.  The winter pansies I usually buy, die after the first freeze.   I too put out bird feeders once winter really hits.  They are still doing ok here, however.  Linda in Washington state

  7. Icicle Pansies, never heard of them.  Of course, I have heard of pansies.  They are a gorgeous shade.  You know, my landlord took down my birdfeeder!  I miss my birds!!  WHY would he do this??  Oh well.  Wonderful entry, my love!!  Do you think John might want to participate?  Let him know the subject if you can!  Love, your Val xox

  10. Krissy, I love the color of the pansies.  I have a few here and their sweet little faces look so good when everything else is frozen and dried up looking.
I have a birdfeeder also and I put some in a pan for the quail.  So fun to watch them.  Smokey, the cat watches out the window like Michael does and he makes little mewing sounds.  You take care and a hug for John.....

  21. I love the Icicle Pansies! I might have to get some of those myself! We feed the birds, too. For the winter, I put out two suet feeders, a sunflower seed feeder, and a thistle feeder. We also have a heated birdbath, which the birds really love when it gets below freezing. I've been noticing a lot more activity at the feeders lately, so winter is on the way!
