monday morning question

What were some activities from your childhood that make you smile?  For example: miniature golf, climbing trees, lying on your back looking up at the clouds,  staying out till the street lights came on, looking for four leaf clovers

My answer:  playing with my Crissy Doll, rolling down the hill in my front yard, going down the hill in a toboggan, going on "acorn hunts" with my brother and sisters, playing jacks, painting my fingernails pink

What's your answer?

  2. Oh this is a fun question.... things that make me smile from childhood.... eating those purple flowers that have the sweet nectar in them; playing outside for hours and hours and exploring rolling hills, woods, paths; jumping from the loft into the hay in the barn; feeding the horses the one summer we boarded horses; the tree house my mom built for us complete with curtains; pushing the cats in our doll buggy; wearing the pioneer dresses my mom sewed for us girls; having tea parties and playing with my dollhouse; playing school and I got to be the teacher; and playing grown up and I was Mrs. Smith and had the most children and the most money and the wealthiest husband LOL.  My sisters hated me.  LOL.  Hugs,
    Lisa

  16. I had the best childhood ever, I think, so it's hard to know where to start.  Ummm, having a friend stay overnight at the lake cabin.  (Swimming, swimming, swimming), getting to take the old woody boat (like on Golden Pond) out in the lake with just my girlfriend, having a circus every summer (in my yard, in which the proceeds from the games we had went to a needy cause, being pulled behind the car (slowly) by my Dad behind the car in the winter, watching the stars and the big dipper, playing elavator, playing school, playing with dollls, playing movie star, the list could go on forever!  Merry

  17. This is a tough question, and I would suspect that each age would bring a bit of a different answer, but what came to mind immediately was my TIN DOLL HOUSE.  I loved playing with the furniture and the little people and could sit for very long periods of time, inside or out, just enjoying the imaginary play.

  20. Ohhh!  I remember playing jacks. and being allowed to stay playing in the street until it got dark in the summer.
We also used to sit watching the trains, steam trains they were then, on the bridge with our legs dangling over the edge.  Did we really used to do that.???  Simple things like riding your bike, playing hide and seek.  Oh those were the days.  Adam just asked me what a four leaf clover is.!!! How sad is that.  I must teach him that in the summer.
    Have a good evening

  22. I know . . . I'm always a day late and a dollar short.  However I want to answer this one anyway.  One of my favorite memories is getting "lost' with my mom.  I loved to climg a great big tree with my best friend Becky; we would have our pillows and relax in the huge, double-sided crook of thre tree.  I was given 8 foreign dolls by my grandmother after she came home from the World's Fair in Brussles.  Wow!  That's 51 years ago and I am still collecting.  I must have over 200 dolls now.  I gave half of them to my daughter 20 years ago.  Oh, one more . . . my friend Becky and I used to play Peter Pan and Wendy in our linen closet.  We would shut the doors and take turns playing our then-favorite characters, as often as not fall asleep in there while our mothers were frantically looking for us.  Gosh, I should have written an entry!  Blessings to you, Krissy.  Love, Penny  http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/TimeforaLittlePoetry
