It looks like Barrack Obama will be the forty fourth President of The US

A couple of hours ago, I cast my vote for President of the United States. I was the 1,278th to vote in my precinct. Do you realize that's an astounding turnout? I didn't even know there were that many people in my precinct! Such a big turnout. I drove by a couple of polling places today and there were people lined up around the block, waiting to vote.

So now I am listening to the news. I am a little frustrated. Almost immediately the newscasters started calling states for Obama, even before the votes had been counted and called in. Weird, why would you call a state for a candidate when only a small percentage of the precincts have counted their votes and called them in? How would you know if you should attribute the electoral votes of that state to that particular candidate, if all the precincts hadn't called in yet?

Okay, the newscasters just announced for Obama. They said it would be impossible for McCain to win. I guess it looks like Obama's going to be the forty-fourth President of The United States of America. He'll be President Barack Obama.

Sigh. Obama isn't my choice. Oh well, I said how I felt, I better not cry but move on. I don't think he'll be best for the country, but there's nothing I can do about that right now...

So, how are you feeling about the results of the election right now?

Throwing a party? Mourning? Somewhere in between?

Drop a comment and let me know how you are feeling right now...

  1. Hi Krissy! I am just now learning the results and I am kind of shocked. While I didn't vote for him due to my concerns of his association with that radical church, I believe he's given lots of American's hope. And...I can live with that. God knows we need some change, desperately. I will support Obama, and my nation, wishing and praying for the best for all of us!

  2. I'm feeling that the Lord is in control; I'm also so grateful to the sermon that my pastor preached the other day before the election; so I'm not devastated; I'll do what the pastor said to do; I'm going to pray for our new president elect for his success although he was not my choice either

hugs to you; it will be okay because the Lord is in control and this didn't catch him by surprise

  4. I believe that younger people could not connect with McCain. They see Obama like them a man with small children. There will never be a day that everyone will be happy with the choice made, but I feel like we need to come together, pray for our leader and hope that he can help America. We need some kind of change because obviously what is happening now is not working. Look at how everyone is having to live.

  5. Like you, I'm a little sad, but I believe God is in control no matter how things seem. As for me and my family, I guess we'll be preparing for higher taxes. Sigh....

  6. I am so hopeful that this election of this man will prove the salvation of a nation who has learned to not care.

We need hope. We need to care.

  7. Hi sissy. Interesting. Yes, Barack Obama will be our next President. I am going to do 77 days of prayer leading up to the Inauguration. I sent you something about it. He will be our President, so this is something I can do, right? I love you!! Val xox

  9. I'm disapointed big time. But like some of the other commenters said "God is still on his throne and he's in control." But I believe it's a sad day for a country that was founded on Godly principals, that has strayed from God and now will be led by a liberal president. What will we be like in another decade? The important task now for all Christians is to be praying for our new president no matter how we feel about him personally. Linda in WA

  10. I am disappointed. I honestly have heard things about Obama that I am not thrilled with. I have friends who live in Illinois and they have told me about him from their point of view. But, I will have to deal with it.

  11. I am a Brit, so shouldn't really comment on the American elections, but I do feel that this one affects the whole world. I dont feel he was the right choice by a mile - but - having said that, it's important folks stick with him and at least give him the chance to fullfill the promises made. I shall pray for him, and for the American people, and hope and pray that my gut instinct is wrong.

  12. I knew this was going to happen. Like you, he wasn't my choice, but there ~ it's done. I left a socialist country to come home to the U.S. I'm not scared ~ the Lord has this all figured out. I just don't think this man has the strength to get our country out of this mess. It was his party who got us here, starting with Clinton. I will pray for him as I do for this country and its leaders, daily. Do I feel like crying? Yes. But I won't. I'll just suck it up and pray for the best. Love and many blessings, Penny

  14. Krissy, God is in control, like so many said. We've needed change and now we've got it. We can pray that we will be lead in the right direction. The country is already heading for a huge mess. Just remember who the real leader is. Love you!

  15. Krissy, The outcome of the election is very sad and I, like another respondent said, am mourning. This is just another indication of the depths to which this country has sunk. What can we do? Perhaps we should begin with reforming the hiring practices in our schools. The children are exposed to the liberal agenda from Grade 1 and then sent to colleges where the likes of Ayers and Kahlid teach. What are we doing to the kids? Why would we expect these kids to vote resposibly after what they've been taught. You think you can't do anything substative? Why not start with refomation of the schools? Cling to your guns and your Bibles and be heard!

  16. I too am saddened by Obama's win. However, I need to accept what has occured. Although I do not care for him, I do respect the position of presidency and will support him as the leader of our country. If we do not unite as a country, it will be too easy for others to take it away from us. All we can do now is pray that he has enough wisdom and guidance to do right by our country.
