Monday Morning Question -- What would you like to say about your Summer so far?

What would you like to say about your Summer so far?

Or Summer in general?

Leave a comment. Let's get a conversation going!

My answer:

It's been a somewhat difficult Summer. My Dad had a heart attack. John's been sick some of the time. I missed my vacation to care for family members. I haven't had time to do many recreational or relaxing activities.

At the same time, this Summer has been good for me. I've met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends. And I've learned a lot. I'm learning new skills (writing, business, blogging, and other social media skills, etc.). I'm learning a lot more about myself, and who it is I want to be when I grow up! And I'm having so much fun learning! It's priceless. For me, this has been a growing time, and I wouldn't trade it...

Besides, The Lord allows everything for a reason, so I'm accepting the not so good things that have happened with the good, knowing "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28). If I didn't believe that, if I didn't believe the Lord was directing my life, and was working all things together for good, I would have quit a long time ago... But I know I can count on Jesus...

Please answer the question. You don't have to be as philosophical as me! Short and sweet is fine too!

Love you all, Krissy :)

  1. I love your question...the summer is going way too fast for me. I love the sunny days and warmth. It's been thawing me out from a very cold winter. I have enjoyed my camping weekends with my family. Hope the rest of your summer goes better. Sorry to hear about your Dad.

  2. It is going fast..and we had a road trip from May 11th thru June 10th and that was nice. But now, I'm just enjoying being home. I worked for over 45 years and I like the fact that I can just stay home and enjoy my yard and do nothing if I don't weant to. Sorry to hear about your dad's heart attackI pray that he is on the mend, also that John is doing better. Hugs to all of you~Linda in Wsahington state

  3. Well Krissy, this has blossomed into a fine summer for me. Started off dragging, with some late spring issues, but TOOK OFF!!

I found my lifemate, and we are making plans to be together soon!! It was truly a whirlwind, now that I think of it ... but it is all good. We were in the Army together, and we still have the same kind of bond now, that we had then!

Your summer has been a challenge, and I hope it continues to trend up for you. Thanks for asking!!

  7. Krissy, this is our first summer with Dave retired. Different. An Adjustment, but a good one. It's been a cool summer, which is great with me I hate hot. Dave loves hot so he doesn't think so. He joined a golf club, and goes every day it doesn't rain. We need our spaces. He's got a beautiful tan to match his awesome kind personality. I am praying for you as always, Krissy sweetie. Love, Merry

  9. Wow, I haven't had the best summer either, Krissy... Chelsea was diagnosed with Chiari, Matt old me he was moving (going into the Air Force), dad had a heart attack (and surgery), John broke up with me, I am waiting to see if I need brain surgery... LOL... I am wondering if your John will be okay... soooooooo... you grow from periods in your life like this... right?? I will be a much better person in a year or two! So will you and so will your John (and hopefully my John). I hope to get some type of a vacation/break here by the end of the summer. Who knows. A day at a time, with God's help... I love you, my dearest TBADT... Love, a little flower xoxox

  10. Well this summer has been pretty much the same as all summers for us EXCEPT I got my second year all clear. We have had some very hot days and some very thundery days and lots of strong winds. But, as I said, apart from that a normal summer for us.

My summer, well sure has been a different one this year. Made a lot of changes and preparing for a new career ahead of me. =) Yes, we can count on Him, even though we're unsure, but He's there to show us the way no matter what.

    Best wishes, Krissy. God bless.

  15. Hey Krissy!

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. I just wanted to come over and visit you for a bit. To answer question, my son Joshua was born with bilateral hydronephrosis or fluid on both kidneys. He had surgery on Thursday to remove a UPJ Obstruction and to correct his left ureter. Surgery was a success, but we had a few setbacks during recovery.
Please visit again soon!Your bloog is lovely. I will be back!

  16. Well, my summer has been different than summers past ... that's for sure! Rain and lots of it, combined with things not so hot, made me a bit crazy and cranky. It seems though, that I've found my patience again and don't even mind the rain anymore. lol

  17. Hahaha! Krissy .... I just saw your poll on the left... my preferred method is clicking on followers ... but you miss a number of folks that way, so I pretty much use all of those methods to one degree or another!

  18. Hi Krissy,
Hope your dad and John is getting better now.
As for myself, summer has been a busy one. Working my way through writings, guest posting and an ebook on WP migration. Also, hope to learn more along the way, SEO and designing too. Hectic yet couldn't be happier.

Guess I should get out more. But the air is hazey so I may need to postpone that too.

  20. Hi, Krissy!

My summer has been pretty average -- or at least it was until about two weeks ago, when my computer contracted a serious malware infection. The malware, called PC Antispyware 2010, is a rogue antispyware program that infiltrates your whole PC, infecting a huge number of files, changing registry keys to adversely affect numerous processes, disabling your real anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, and installing itself in your Startup list so it reloads every time you boot up. It's so insidious that even after you've deleted many of its malicious files (at least the ones you're able to find), it continually regenerates itself through the hidden files it's put in various locations on your PC.

It's been a challenge, to say the least! I've been rid of the active infection for a week, but, if you can believe it, I'm still dealing with some of the negative aftereffects of this diabolical program. The most serious one is not being able to access my Windows Security program. It's there and running, but when I try to access it, I get a "file not found" message. This malware actually removed my Security Center icon from my control panel, if you can believe that! So, my current project is trying to figure out how to get it back.

Not the most fun way to spend the last part of your summer, I can tell you! The only good thing about it is that I'm learning so many things about my computer that I never understood before -- and I'm finding that part fascinating!

    Blessings to you and John,
    Jeanne

  21. My summer has had a lot of pain but it's given birth to a lot of new beginnings. Especially a newer, deeper relationship with my sweet hubby.
