Chelsea's in labor

Hi!  I just wanted to let you all know that my niece Chelsea, Val's daughter, is in labor right now. I thought I would tell you, because many of you know Val.  Please keep her and the baby in your prayers.  This will be Chelsea's first baby.

On another note, I thought I would give you a quick update on John.  He's doing alright.  He says he feels pretty good.  He still has the kidney problem.  Actually, we will go to Hershey on Monday to find out what his Creatinin level is.  Just a one day stay.  So I can tell you more then.  One thing that I am not so pleased about are his white and red blood cell counts.  They have plummeted.  He had been getting shots regularly to keep both counts high, but didn't get them for one week because he had toenail surgery.  Now his white cell count is so low it is kind of dangerous.  But it has been this low before, so he will just wear his mask everywhere.  He will also have to continue getting shots for his white and red cells.  I am kind of disappointed.  His scores were SO high, just a little over a week ago.  I thought his body was doing this on it's own.  Now that the shots have been removed, I see it is all artificial.  He just plummets right back down.  When is his body going to start acting right on it's own?  At least it has been a month since he has had to be hospitalized, and I thank God for that!

I have a question for you all.

Here goes.  Would you all like to see a short write up, actually, mostly just photos, of the last time John was hospitalized?  The time we were there for two months.  I kind of wanted to include them in my journal because they are a part of John and my life.  But you may just want me to move on.  Or I could put them in my private journal (John's Journey With MDS).

Please let me know in the comments.  You can say:  show them, move on, or post in your private journal.

I love you guys!  Krissy :)

  2. Tell Val I am praying for them and you and John too. Krissy, I think it's a great idea to share the photos. For us to be able to see things through your eyes in a way. We will never begin to understand what you two have and are going through but we are all family and we are with you all the way. It may also help others who may be going through similar things. 4. Please share your photo's and experiences with us Krissy, whether here or in your private journal. Sorry I haven't been in touch of late, life's pretty complicated here, will update you soon. Fingers crossed (and knees lol) for a speedy recovery for John. think of you both often.
Wonderful news about Chelsea, can't wait to hear the end result. Bet Val is a nervous wreck! Give her my love (& Chelsea). Hope to get back to you all sometime soon.

  6. I know all about those shots to build up your red and white cell counts, when I was going through chemo I had to get them cause my cell counts dropped so low. I do know that those shots gave me some very bad bone pain. I still have the pain in my bones. Doctor said I'd deal with it for about a year afterwards. Does John complain he has bone pain with those shots? And please go right ahead and post those pics of the hospital stay. That's what your journal is for, to vent, rant, share, console, and that's also why we're here, to help you in any way we can. (((hugs)))

  8. Krissy,
You've shared John's experiences in writing, so you might as well produce the pics. Leave it to you to put them in this or your private journal. Hope his counts keep going the right way.
And good luck to Chelsea - I'll pop across to Val now as well.

    Best wishes
    Guido

I bet you're all so excited over this! I hope John's white cells soon increase for him so he can fight off infection. Jeannette xx

  10. show them, Krissy; they are part of who you are. Isn't it neat that they have shots though that can help keep John's counts up until his body decides it will do it on its own?

I'm so excited for Val and for the new baby soon to be part of your family. Hoping Chelsea's labor is an easy one.

  13. KRISSY IS GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE !!  Hope everything goes well with her delivery.  Krissy, I'd tell the story of John's hospitalization, either in your journal or the other one, it may encourage someone who'd going thru the same ordeal.  You are always so positive and upbeat, even when the news is not good.  I'm sure it will bless someone out there, who's in the same boat.   Linda in WA

  20. Congratulations to Chelsea and Val first off.  That is great news, I hope it all goes smoothly for them.

Sorry to hear about John's slight relapse.  Even though his body is not keeping the counts up, it is good that the counts can be controlled without hospitalization.  Always look to the positive.

As far as posting the pictures goes, they are part of your life, and this is your place on the web.  If you would like to post them to share with us, then by all means go for it.  Post them in which ever journal you want to...or both.

Please share the experience of John's ordeal...I don't care where!  But, I think here in this journal will allow the story to get to more people, and maybe help someone through a similarly difficult situation...Jae

  25. Many prayers for Chelsea!

Please share your photos.  What you and John have gone through is a huge part of your life, and sharing them is part of the reason we have journals like this.  Depending on what the pictures depict, it may disturb some people, so it might be a good idea to post them in the private journal...but that is left to your discretion.
    Much love,
    Kellen

  29. Dear Krissy,
Thank you for the comments to my journal. I dont know if I want to do this journal or not.  I feel selfconscious.   Well anyway I hope Chelsea's doing ok and I am so happy for Val.  She will make a wondeful Grandma.
I am worried about John.  Its been to long and he is suppose to be well.  I pray for you both and you are always in my heart and often on my mind.
Love and hugs to you     Myke

  30. Good luck to your niece hope it goes fast. I'm so sorry John's White and Red blood cells are not doing so good. I pray for him. I think if you want to share anything about John's journey it would be great. I would love to read about it and hear more about his battle.

  31. aww :)  congratulations to Chelsea and Val..and you too Auntie!! :)  I hope mamma and baby are doing well!
Good that John is feeling better, that's a good sign. :)  hopefully his levels will come back up, even with help from the shots until his body is strong enough to battle this course on its own.  a tough fight always needs backup :)
I think that if you feel like posting pictures than you should, I think that whenever you need or want to talk about what's going on..past or present...that you should.  This isn't just about healing physically but also emotionally.  So I say, if you've thought about it go for it..show them!
Take care Krissy, lots of love to Chelsea, Val and the new baby!!
