we're moving today!

Finally!  John and I are moving into our new place today.  The boxes are packed.  The U-Haul is rented.  Everything is ready to go.  I am really excited.  And exhausted.  We did some of the moving yesterday, and I am tired.  Really tired, LOL.  Once again, like the last time we moved, everybody bowed out who was supposed to help.  This time we have one person who is coming over to help us today.  Ugghhh.  Why say you are going to help if you have no intention on doing so?

So anyway, I don't know when I will be able to use the computer next.  I won't be over here at my parent's house anymore, so I won't be able to use my Dad's.  I probably never properly explained why I was using my Dad's computer in the first place.  I couldn't hook my computer up downstairs in the room John and I were staying in at my parent's because that phone line for some reason was claimed by Giant, LOL.  We don't know why the phone company gave Giant (the grocery store) and us the same phone line.  But the phone company told us we had to stay off of it, LOL.  So I had no way to use my computer.  Actually, it has not been funny at all.  So I have been using my father's computer.

So now that I am leaving my parent's house I won't have access to a computer until I move my computer over to my new house and hook it up.  And you see, I don't know how to hook it up, LOL.  Until I get a friend to help me, I won't have a computer to use.  I did hoook up my own DSL in the past, but I am feeling intimidated by the whole thing right now.  All of those wires!  But I will try to get it hooked up as soon as possible, and get back to journalling as soon as I can.

I am also excited to have my own documents again soon.  I will be able to add photos, ones that I have wanted to add.  You can see updated photos of me and John!  And our new home!

Right now, I am happy.  But I also feel tired and a little bit overwhelmed.  I have a lot to unpack and put together in my home.  It will take a long time.  There are some things that seem a little complicated to me.  I don't know how to put together some of the things, such as VCRs and certain shelves.  But I will figure it out, and John knows a lot.  He can do a lot when he is not too tired.  He has been feeling a lot better lately.  I am also thinking, what's the rush?  I can work on some every day.  What if it is not done immediately?  I am not entertaining guests next week.

So I better get back to work.  John and I need to start moving our stuff over to the apartment this morning.  I am so glad this whole business is over and we finally get to move in.  A  month late, but we are still moving in.  How about that?

Love you all, Krissy :)

  1. So glad you're moving -- it's good the apartment is ready for you and all fixed up.  I'm sure you were 'right there' until the end of the fix up.  Good luck and enjoy the process.  You have all the time you need to get it done.

  3. Hooking up a computer is easy. Most of the wires you can tell where they go. Just look at your dads. They are all pretty much the same. You can do it! Tammy

  5. Good luck with your move.  I haven't been around in awhile and missed that you were moving.  I myself, hate to move so much that I do it in the following way.  I fill my car up to the ceiling with my most important objects (ususally clothes, essential kitchen items, electronics, favorite books and photo albums) and leave everything else behind.  Then I go to the Salvation Army and buy a sofa for $30 and I'm DONE!  My friends think I'm crazy.  Especially since when THEY'RE moving, I'm usually the first (and somethime the only) one to volunteer to help them.  Makes no sense I know.
    Hope it all goes well.

  9. Phhhhttttt... I pretty much help everyone we know move, but when we move? It's me and G when I can grab him for the heavy stuff!! If I was near you I would help.. And I ROCK at putting together electronics (especially computers). It's really not hard. Most stuff is pretty well labeled, and the rest the plugs themselves will help you figure out. Just go for it! Congrats on the move and Happy New Home!

  12. Wishing you the best on the move. I know moving is stressful! I found that it takes me 6 months to get unpacked and all sorted when I've moved.
As far as the computer..just take a look at it. The cords should be color coded or labeled. Mine is a mess of wires, too. But, it you take one wire at a time and not look at them all than it won't be so overwhelming.
It's how I look at a Critical Care patient. They will have all sorts of tubes and wires coming from them. I could be so overwhelmed. But, I take it one at a time and figure out what each one does. Then, it's not so bad.
Let us know how it goes.
    Hugs..Pam

  22. Thank the good Lord, every thing is finally ready for you to move in.  Yes, take it slow and do a little at a time.  Most important is the bed, the clothes, and the food in the kitchen.  The rest will wait until you get to it!  Take it easy !  'On Ya' - ma

  23. Aw, Krissy, that's so great that you finally moved.  It always happens that so many say they will help but none do.  I hate that also.  LOL...I'm the same way with hooking things up.  My kids do the pc and the tv and all that stuff.  I'm a lost soul.  They program my cell phone for me.  I'm shocked I can do more than just turn the computer on.  Take your time with things.  You don't need to get yourself overwhelmed.  Love ya, Chris

  27. WQW!  I am happy moving day has finally come for you guys.  I am very happy for you.  Isn't it amazing how people disappear on moving day?  Kind of reminds me of "painting days." Although one doesn't HAVE to paint, but moving day DOES come no matter what.  Though you are thankful, it's a big job, and just take everything a day at a time!  I called the Geek Squad to hook up my computer when I got new dining room furniture and a new computer desk.  I just was too itimidated.  With the high speed modem, and then the computer back up stuff, there are about 1000 wires back of here (or so it seemed).  I am totally happy you will have your OWN place again, Krissy!  Yahoo!  Love, Merry

  30. YAY!!!!!  I have been on pins and needles to know the day you would move.  Does it feel like you have taken a huge breath of the freshest air possible?  Take your time . . . we'll still be here whan you are hooked up again.  It's possible that when you get your phone hooked up the technician can also hook up your DSL.  Well . . . most of all I am happy that you and John are in your own place now.  Love and prayers to you both, Penny   http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/TimeforaLittlePoetry

  34. Sissy, when I first got that line, when it was hooked up, I was having people call MY number and ask for the bakery.  LOL  It was CRAZY!!  I don't know why I was able to keep it, though, how it worked, but you couldn't.  Hmmm... That was years ago, though.  Maybe I just used it for the computer.  Love, Val xox
