Autumn Things
Nothing like a pumpkin to pick from.
Or a selection of gourds.
The kid in Spiderman regalia was told by his Mom to "fly down the haystack like Spiderman"!
This is a bona fide reindeer. I can't believe he let me get close enought to him to take his picture! He got upset when I did though, and began rubbing his antlers in the fence. He got tangled in there and John and some other men went and had to untangle him. I felt so bad because I disturbed him. Valerie says I should name him Dasher because he is so Dashing.
Happy Autumn! Can't wait to see everybody's entries! Leave a link here with your entry so I can include your entry in the list of entries. I will list all of the entries Saturday (tomorrow) night at about 8 PM. Love, Krissy :-)
Wow! your photos are so great! I wish I could have gone out and taken some...I made my own instead! They are all ready to be viewed in my journal now!

PS I had great fun making the pictures!
Pumpkin soup Recipe...
ReplyDelete800g pupmkin or butternut squash
1 tbsp olive oil (not sure if you have tablespoon measurements in the USA...I'll try and find out the equivelent in mls for you)
1 large onion, finely sliced
1 1/2 litres hot vegetble stock
1 bay leaf
1. Cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds, cut off the skin. Cut flesh into chunks.
2. Heat oil in a pan and gently fry the onion for ten minutes until soft but not browned. Add pumpkin and cook for three minutes.
3. Add stock and bay leaf and bring to the boil. Simmer for 20 minutes until the pumpkin is tender. Remove bay leaf and whizz the soup in batches in a food processor until smooth. (I was planning to use a blender when the soup had cooled!)
4.Return the soup to a clean pan, heat gently and season to taste. Add more stock if too thick.
Sounds pretty easy!!! It also has a recipe for spicy 'red hot' muffins to be served with the soup...good old ASDA!

These are great pictures, Krissy. I love the pretty orange color of the pumpkins and gourds. Wow, that reindeer is pretty big. He looks kind of lonely, though. I guess he's waiting for the other reindeer to join him. LOL Take care.
