Monday Morning Question

Monday Morning Question:

What latest trend simply baffles you?

My answer:  Owning a ferret.  Why would anyone want to own a sneaky weasel?

Uhmm, can I have a second answer?  Tongue piercing.  It's very unsanitary and it can't possibly feel right.

What's your answer?

LOL!  I had my tongue pierced.  It didn't hurt, but it wasn't worth the pain my mom caused me after she found out about it! LOL!  I have since taken it out :)

  2. I had my belly button pierced and my cousin has ferrets and lizards as pets. I wouldn't want them. I have enough pets already with a dog, a cat, a pig, and fish. I wouldn't want my tongue pierced either.

I'm sooo with you on the tongue piercing thing Krissy, it turns my stomach just to think of it, lol!!  The latest trend - here at least - that baffles me is this skooby thing, not sure of the spelling.  kids, even boys, weaving little bits of plastic together to make a... bigger bit of plastic!  I just don't get it, but then I guess I'm not supposed to, being ancient ;o)
    Good question!

  4. For me it would have to be what is called "Happy Slapping" - horrible, it is where you hit someone or beat them up and film it on the camera in your mobile phone. Modern life is beyond belief sometimes.

Mine is people who wear cropped tops with their stomachs on display. UGH!! It just looks SO gross, I thought clothes were for keeping us warm! Jeannette.

  6. Good morning Krissy; I'm with you on the tongue piercing - totally grosses me out. Also, I've heard teens/young adults playing tag with their vehicles. They weave through traffic, lightly touch/tap the car they are trying to tag (one of their friends playing the game) and then that car is "it". Sounds dangerous to me. Why would anyone want to put their lives and the lives of others in danger?

    have a good Monday.

  8. I really can`t think of anything, which is unlike me as I`m always complaining about one thing or another!  But I will agree with both of your subjects, especially the ferrets.  I sometimes see a woman locally who has two of the critters and she takes them out on leads just like a dog.  She once told me that they can kill dogs by attacking them and holding on to their throats... yuk!!!

The popularity of this Gangsta Rap music. Not all of it. But the songs that talk about shooting police officers, raping and killing, etc.
This is too violent for our youth to be listening to.
I cant beleive that the young people actually think thats how life SHOULD be.

  12. My son has owned ferrets for more years than I can remember. They stink!
Trends?.....body piercing, today's so-called "music", clothes designed for skinny women, kids without manners, adverts with loud background music on the tv and radio, drivers who think they own the road, I could go on and on.

  14. I noticed a lot of people with trampolenes in their backyard for kids to play on this summer. It must be a trend.  The scary part is they had no safety nets around them...  "On Ya'  - ma

RE: Color Bracelets......I really gave this some thought because there are so many things to say but after reading all the entries and they were great ones i know that there was something that was just really disturbing to me recently.
On Oprah she had a show about a game being played in schools. Young girls wear these plastic different colored bracelets and the colors represent different sex acts, so when a boy pops the bracelt off then that is the sex act they would perform in school. Or even out of school.
This was the one that i can't forget.

  25. That ain't all they're piercing. Some make you hurt just to see them. Trends and fads usually make no sense. Tattoos are not especially "in", but I have never understood them. Guys who wear their trousers so low that the crotch seam is at knee level, make no sense either.  Oh, I am supposed to put these in my journal. Well, no.  I don;t think so.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, why exactly is owning a ferret such a fad? We have friends who have them. I don't ever see a ferret living here, but to each his own!

    ReplyDelete
  27. PS: as for tongue piercing, again, to each his own. I have seen quite a few cases where the person had a reaction and thier tongues swelled up and blocked thier airway. One of them was a friend of mine, and it took 2 doctors and 3 nurses to remove it. They used plier type instruments and had to have one dr on each side pulling on the ring thingy to get it out! Can we say OUCH!

I do not like body piercing of any kind except the ears for one set of earings at a time.  I have seen some with 10 holes...in one ear ...very stange and the strange to me too is the eyebrow piercing too...bad idea!

Ferrets I can understand ... they're quite fun when you get to know them! Piercings though ... quite awful! I can't see why anyone would feel it adds anything to their beauty. I'm still as made by the Almighty ... not even any extra earholes!
