There's a cool meme I found over at By The Way that journalers have been participating in. Here's how it works. Go to Wikipedia and enter your birthdate (but not your birth year) into the search box on the left hand side of the page. My birthday is March 13, so that is what I typed in. Then post (at least) three interesting historical events, two births, and one death that happened on your birthdate. Here's mine.
On March 13 here's what happened. :
~ William Herschel discovers the plant Uranus. (1781)
~ Great Depression: Banks in the US began to re-open after the Presidentially mandated "bank holiday". (1933)
~ India's Missionaries Of Charity choose Sister Nirmala to succeed Mother Teresa as its leader. (1997)
These people were born.:
~ Earl Grey, Prime Minister of the UK., person Earl Grey Tea was named after (1764)
~ Neil Sedaka, American singer and songwriter (1939)
She died.:
~ Susan B. Anthony, American women's suffrage activist (1820)
Also, this is the Feast Day of:
