Four more weeks here

Hi ya'll.  I thought I would do an entry before I went to bed.  I just wanted to let everyone know that the plans regarding John have changed once again.  He was discharged from the hospital tonight.  But instead of going home and getting care from a nurse at home where we live, John and I will be staying in Hershey for four weeks.  Yes, I said weeks, not days, LOL.  He will be going to Day Hospital during the day and then coming back to stay with me at Hope Lodge at night, just like when he had the bone marrow transplant.  I know four weeks is a long time, but I am glad that the hospital made this decision.  I like the fact that they will continue his care at the hospital.  It is the best place to do it.  And he is still having some complications and his counts are still low.  He is still kind of weak.  And he needs his anti-viral medication everyday for the next four weeks.  So I think all around this is the best way.  I wasn't prepared for this, but it is ok.  When they first told us, I was pretty shocked, but I do feel good about it now...

Hope everyone is doing well.  Krissy :)

  18. It's a relief knowing John is getting proper care. His medical care caused you worry at home and you weren't getting enough back up. At least this way, you will be looked after a bit too. Wish I could be there for you, would take the first flight over if it were possible - guess you already know that my special friend. God Bless you both. Lots of love.

  23. I am sure it will make things better considering the level of care he needs.   He will be getting to be outdoors for a little bit which I think he will enjoy.    It should make for a more comfortable living situation having the movement away from the hospital to your temporary home.     Hope you find some fun things to do.    mark

  34. Hi, been sent the link for your journal and i wanted to say good luck to you both and no one said it was going to be easy, life can be one cruel world. It sends us things to test us and the fact that you are still here and being made to feel all sorts of emotions is a great achievment. You are one of the strongest people i have ever heard from. You have all the support from people that care about you, more than you will ever know. No one will blame you for taking time out and feeling down. Just remember that you need help just as much as John does.
I wish you all the very best in the world and my thoughts are with you both
    Take care hun
