Monday Morning Question
It's been awhile since I've done the Monday Morning Question. No, I am not back home again. I am still at Hope Lodge in Hershey. I just wanted to start doing the question again because I wanted to start doing some "normal" things again that I used to do. I want to thank Val from There is a Season for doing the MMQs so faithfully for me these past couple of months. Val will continue to do the Photo Scavenger Hunt until I get back home, so PLEASE go there to find the Photo Hunt. Now on with the question.
This question was inspired by Deb of Sassy's WORD.
When you were a child, did you ever win an award or a trophy? If so, what for?
My answer: I won several art awards in local art shows and at school.
Now go ahead and answer the question in the comments section below, or in your journal and leave a link to your entry in the comments section below. Because we want to know more about you! Krissy :)
I won an award in a county art fair, too! I remember the picture =) !! I also won a Spanish II Award in High School. My teacher gave me a clay figurine from Spain. It was cool. I wonder what happened to it. Let's see, anything else? I got some awards in middle school, alot of them, can't remember what they were. Neat question! Love, Val xox

ReplyDeleteHi Krissy, Welcome back to Monday Morning Question. :o) I was awarded the "Progress Prize" in my 2nd year at Senior school. I was really pleased to have won but was quite disappointed to receive an encyclopaedia, very boring for an 11yr old...lol! :o)

ReplyDeleteI got several awards as a kid. for about five years running, I got the highest grades in class - I also got awards for reading the most books, for writing and producing a short play in 4th grad and a bible scholar award. Nerdiness starts in early childhood. Blessings, Penny
ReplyDeleteTwo awards:
ReplyDelete1. In eighth grade for a bake-off contest we had. Won first place. Felt bad though because my sister who was a great cook made the coffee cake that I won for.
2. In 12th grade I got a trophy for student government for being the most dedicated to my job. That was nice. Kept it for lots of moves; finally got rid of it about three months ago.
betty
I won mostly academic stuff--nothing too terribly special!
ReplyDeletei won preschool Queen lol that was a long time ago basically because i was the nicest one in the class and i won many awards for good grades and behavior etc.
ReplyDeleteIn High school we had to make up a special story with pictures about anything we wanted. Of course I made one about horses. I won a trophy for it. I was very surprised. Also won a blue ribbon in horsemanship.

ReplyDeleteI won an art award when I was in 5th grade, it was a contest for the local newspaper and my teacher had everyone in class do a christmas picture to enter. My picture was of 3 angels.

I got honorable mention in the annual Lincoln essasy contest at my grade school. At a county fair I got a blue ribbon for my apple pie (but my grandma helped me so much I felt like she made it!) and a red ribbon on my 4-H learn-to-sew skirt!

I am SO PROUD of my spelling bee trophies. My daughter thinks they are cheesy, and they probably are, since they are about 20 years old and not as shiny as they used to be! LOL. But I love 'em, they remind me of the excitement of winning those contests so long ago. I never excelled in sports, but at least I was a good speller!
