We're back again from Hershey. The trip was was actually nice. We stayed in a nice motel this time so nobody at Hope Lodge would get John's pneumonia.
John saw Dr. Claxton on Monday morning. Dr. Claxton looked at John's chest X-ray and said that there was fluid on the lining of the lungs. He told John to come back in two weeks for a CT scan and another checkup. John is still in a lot of pain. Dr. Claxton figures in another three to four weeks he will be over the pneumonia. Hopefully.
Now onto the subject of the Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. It is actually getting better! John requires blood less often! There is also a test to see if it is getting better, and the test confirms that it is. Dr. Claxton thinks that eventually, some day, John may not even require blood anymore! Won't that be something else?!
Well I have to get off of here. This entry is going to be short. I have lots of chores and errands to do, and lots of phone calls to make. Talk to you soon, Krissy :)
Yay! More progress!

Krissy I am so glad John is doing so well ~ let us hope the day isn't too far away when he will no longer need blood ~ Ally
ReplyDeleteVery pleased to hear that the AHA is clearing up. Sorry that the pain is a problem, hope he has adequate painrelief available.
ReplyDeleteSort of a good news/ not great news (the lungs) entry.
ReplyDeleteBut I tell you the good news SO out weighs the bad. Pneumonia takes time to get over and with his illness it will take longer then a "healthy" person. So I guess you probably expected that.
I'm so happy about the Hemolytic Anemia getting better... So when John no longer needs blood I will carwheel down the hall and back .. is that a deal! Tell him I will have someone take a picture LMAO!!! Heck anything to make you laugh!
I love you! Still praying

I hope the day comes soon that John no longer needs blood. Hope his pneumonia resolves soon. Pray that his pain is relieved too. Take care of yourselves.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Barb
You sound like you are energetic to take on your duties at home. That must be that with John's news being very optomistic you are both releaved. I know that John is feeling a lot of pain and at the moment he has to deal with that. This is truly a turn for the best. He has my prayers that he is on the road to a great recovery. mark

ReplyDeleteEverything sounds like it is going well. The pneumonia will take a while to get over and I hate that he is in pain. Poor guy.Hard to imagine what he has been through., and you to. Good that he doesn't need blood so often. He is going to be ok. My prayers are always with you. Love and Hugs from Myke
I'm so glad John's getting better! Hoping He'll be over the Pneumonia by Christmas, and that you guys can be at home!!! I'll still be praying, but am already seeing and Grateful for God heariong us!!! Have a great day Krissy- love Carolyn
ReplyDeleteOh, I do hope your hopes for John come to pass and he can stop requiring blood. Two of my cousins had to be transfused at birth with entirely new blood due to an r-h factor in their mother's blood that clashed with their father's blood type. They did not transfuse the girl soon enough and she was left brain damaged. She is deaf and has severe cerebral palsy but this brave girl is now over 50 years old and still works! Her boss didn't know she was deaf for 3 years she learned to read lips so well. Some people climb the equivelent of mountains when they have to with utmost courage. Gerry
ReplyDeleteGreat news about the anemia! I sure hope the pain eases, soon, though. Poor guy...glad to hear it was a quick trip...Jae
ReplyDeleteGlad things are looking up. Also glad the Hershey trip was a short one.
