I may as well call this "My Sick Blog".
Let me tell you what is going on. And yes, I know I shouldn't be on here, I should be in bed, but I wanted to get on for a few minutes while I felt okay and mention what is going on.
Last night in the middle of the night I went to the Emergency Room (yet again).
It's because I could barely breathe. The doctor ordered a nebulizer treatment (albuterol) which lasted about 10 minutes, to get me breathing again. Then I was taken to x-ray.
Turns out I have Pneumonia. Dr. Feese told the nurse to give me another "breathing treatment". Then he told me I was going to have to take double strength Zpac (zithromax) for awhile when I returned home.
The doctor wanted to admit me into the hospital, but told me there weren't any beds left. So he reluctently sent me home with the Zpac and told me to drink lots of fluid and get lots of rest, and go to my Primary Care doctor in a couple of days. I have already made an appointment, and am going to see my doctor tomorrow.
How does one have pneumonia for awhile without realizing it? I know that I have been trying to catch full breaths for awhile, but I guess it progressively got worse, and it was so slow I didn't notice.
Now I am exhausted and sleep most of the day. The house is a wreck and even John can't keep up because he is tired from taking me to the hospital and appointments so much, LOL.
I just called somebody and asked them to help for a few hours, and offered to pay them, but they said they couldn't come and help.
I don't know what I am going to do, because the exhaustion I am under does not allow me to get a lot done here, some of which includes staying on top of our meds, doing my home breathing treatments, feeding the cat, my insulin shots, etc.
Poor John, he is trying to take care of everything. He does a lot, but I do wish I could give him an extra pair of hands!
And I don't want to ask my sister Valerie to help me. She has enough on her plate. Her boyfriend John was lifeflighted last night to a hospital about an hour away, because he has fluid on his heart. They said if he had waited any longer to come in to the Emergency Room he would have had a heart attack. Now he is in the ICU in an unfamiliar hospital. And Val had to stay behind.
They need to figure out what is causing the fluid on his heart before they can do anything about it. If they drain it, it just might refill. They are deciding if they want to drain the fluid around his heart or open his chest.
Please pray for him.
Now I will go lay down.
Love you all, Krissy

ReplyDeletelori
I hope someone can give you some help, both of you need to take it easy. I've heard of lots of people getting pneumonia and not knowing it. You are in my prayers. 'On Ya' - ma
ReplyDeleteKrissy, let the house go, it's really not that important. I know how you feel about it being a "sick journal". And pneumonia snuck up on your like so many people. I thought with it though your not suppose to always be laid back (lying down) but resting/sleeping elevated when your resting during NON sleep hours. Is this true? I think so, but don't quote me. Anyways, get rest and lots of clear fluids minus the caffiene.
ReplyDeleteVals boyfriend is in my thoughts, I read that in her journal earlier.
Love
Ang
They save God never gives us more than we can handle, it seems like you are up to your limit in the handling. So very sorry you are going through so very hard times. It would be worthwhile to see if someone in your could help out. Wish I lived closer I would be right over to lend a hand. Hope you get over the pneumonia. Prayers for you and John and Val's boyfriend. Hope they find out what is causing the fluid and that he will be ok. God bless. Many prayers going out for you all.
ReplyDeleteAw, Krissy, pneuonia is terrible. I've had it twice and, yes, you can walk around getting more exhausted and sick and not even know you have it. That's what happened to me. I could barely move. I missed three weeks of work. I would take your meds and try to get Michael his insulin and not worry about much else. I wish you could get some help but don't try to keep up yourself. You'll just get worse. Make sure you get another x-ray in a few days to see if the antibiotic is working. It took three tries before they found the right one for me. I'll keep you John and Val and her BF in my prayers. Love you, Chris
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. -Missy

Krissy, So sorry to hear you have pneumonia! You have sure had some bad stuff hit you, lately! Krissy, I love you dearly & am praying double-time for you. K?
ReplyDeleteIf only I were there and not in Iowa, I'd be at your place in a heartbeat. I'd LOVE to help you & I am a good helper and a good worker. I sure wish I was closer! That's so smart that you went to ER again! Krissy I have had pneumonia 3 times, and once I almost DIED. I was in ICU for 4 days, then a long stint in the hospital with physical therapy (they beat on my back to break up the gunk). I had to have breating treatments & IV antibiotics & I lost a ton of weight. It took me 3 months to bounce back. And yes, I slept a lot then too, that's normal I think. Krissy, sweetie, pneumonia can be very serious, even fatal, EVEN in today's age. You were SO SMART to go to ER again, Krissy. Now take care of yourself, promise, me? And when you are better, let me know, please. How are your muscle spasms doing? Love you, give your hubby my love, too. Merry
sending prayers and hugs all around
ReplyDeletelove ya and get better soon!

ReplyDeleteLuv N Hugs, Barb
I've had pneumonia before. It took me two courses of antibiotics to get well...and I was tired for 2 months afterward. I'm surprised you are able to do an entry at all! Rest and get well.
ReplyDeletePam
Take care and have a good rest, Krissy! I wish I'm not on the other side of the world, then I can help you out.
ReplyDeleteDear Krissy~Sorry you and Val's John are so sick. I am praying for you to get better ASAP. Dutch is sick too--just getting over Pneumonia, now needing surgery on his leg (swollen and can't hardly walk) from former mebniscus (sp?) work injury to the knee. It's very painful. then there's the breathing problems and nodules on the lung that need to be checked out mext week. I know how you must feel calling this your sick journal. we all want/wish to have other things to talk about, but when pain is getting in the way it's hard to think of other stuff! Hang in there. Maybe John is getting a chance to appreciate a new perspective since he is seemingly well at the moment! Hugs to all of you~Deb ;-)
ReplyDeleteoh no. murphy's law.
ReplyDeletemaybe the pneumonia was instigating the fibro flare up...i've heard that being sick can bring on worse symptoms with things like fibro, arthritis and cfs. i'm happy you're on the meds....those Zpacks are great. that's all pey can take because of her allergies to the 'cillins'
will definitely keep john and val in prayer.
you ALL take care~
~Bernadette
I'm praying for you all. God will watch over you.
ReplyDeleteKellen
