my computer is fixed

Good morning!  Just a quick entry to let you all know my computer is fixed.  As fixed as it is going to get, anyway.  It is almost five years old.
Last night I fixed the computer.  It had completely ceased to work (as far as connectivity and other things) at about, maybe 4 pm, and I was somewhat scared, as I didn't know if it was going to totally crash soon, and I wanted to copy my pics to disk.
Talk about being a last minute person - I am such a procrastinator - I should have copied my pics to disk ages ago.  My wedding photos are on there, as well as John's bone marrow transplant photos and his hospitalizations, for the past two and a half years.
Fortunately, the computer hadn't crashed, and I was still able to access the documents and pics, thank the Lord.  So I copied them to disk.
After that, I tried a few things, and now the computer is working better than ever!  Go figure.  So I am going to use it until it dies, I guess, and then I will get a new one.  It will be five soon, so I don't know how long it will be before it does die, but I guess it is this one for now.  You know something though - this one is not so slow now, LOL...
Okay, I've got to run.  I have a lot of things to do today.  After I finish up some things in my graphics group I am going to go shopping for the Hershey trip this weekend.
Maybe get a new haircut.  A new haircut should be fun!  Something short and sassy, LOL.  Not really sassy, just fun.  That used to not be me, my hair was super long most of my life.  But I can't wear it that way any more because it is too thin.  When it is shorter it is fuller.  Okay, I guess I should leave this topic for a "girl talk" blog or something, LOL.
Love you all,  Krissy :)

  1. I am glad that your computer was fixed.  I totally understand.  I lost exactly two computers because of system crashes and there was nothing I could do to get my information back.  I lost addresses, financial information, christmas card information, my wedding photos, photos of my son's graduation.  All gone.  There is no trace and no record of those things.  Its almost as if they don't exist.  Oh well.  I now make monthly backups of everything on my computer.  Due to fear.  I don't want to go through that again.  Ever.  Have a great day.  Hugs.  Tish G.

  2. I am glad that you got some pics saved and now the computer is working better. Helen

  3. I'm glad your computer problems are gone. I too have put everything on back up disks too.

  4. Feels good to have it fixed doesn't it? mine was on the frizt last week too.... my problem wasn't the hard drive like I first thought , it was the concetors? I need to get my stuff on disks too though! Just in case!!!
I don't know what I would do without my pc...
    make it a great day!

  5. thanking the Lord the computer is fixed!!! we depend on these things so much, don't we? we get so lost without them!! (I know I do, LOL)

I think a short sassy haircut would look cute on you, Krissy!! and its summertime hot, always a good time to get a shorter "do" so do it (if you want, LOL)

  7. Yes, honey, new haircuts always are fun!  I loved it when Therese recently cut my hair.  So, I forgot to ask you, how easy was it to copy your graphics and pics?  I am proud of you for getting it done!!  Now it is MY turn!!  I still need to pick up the disks!  LOVE YOU!!  Val xox

  8. I'm glad you got the computer working again.  I wish computers lasted longer than 5 years for sure.  Hair cuts always make you feel better.  'On Ya' - ma

Pics take up alot of room on the harddrive. I copy mine to DVD every 3-4 mos.  My 1st computer was 9 yrs. old with WIN95 before I bought a new desktop 4 yrs. ago with XP.  My 1st one still works....just needs a monitor.  It's just sitting in the closet.  Then I bought a laptop 14 mos. ago with Vista.  Hubby uses desktop and the laptop is mine.  About 5 mos. ago, we had to buy a new monitor for the desktop.  We should be set for awhile.  LOL

I would love to hear from you. Now is your chance! So what do you want to say?
