I'm going digital!

Good morning!  I am really excited!  I am going to step into this century and get a digital camera.  I don't know too much about how to use one so I am going to have to learn how.  I love taking photos so much!  But I have been using the throw away cameras from Wal-Mart!  You have probably noticed that as the resolution on my photos in this journal have been so poor, lol.  Thank you for sticking with me thus far, though.

Let's see, what else is new.  My family has made it ok through Hurricane Frances.  My sister Deirdre who lives in Florida is fine.  She was without power for 13 hours.  My nephew Matthew and his family are also ok.  They got together and weathered out the storm in a resort.  (I need to put a picture of Val's son Matthew in this journal.  I haven't done that yet.)  I haven't heard from John's family yet.  I wonder how his father and stepmother are doing.  And also his sister and her fiance.  They are supposed to get married this Saturday!  If they don't call by tomorrow we will have to call them.  Oh, I was just thinking about Hurricane Ivan that is supposed to be coming to Florida, I think this weekend.  We must pray that everybody will be safe.  These people are taking such a beating.  The third hurricane in a row.

Hmm, what else is new?  I spoke with my Uncle Gene (my Godfather) on the phone today.  It was great to talk to him.  I hope to visit him soon, maybe next spring.  I will put a picture of him in this journal.  I would have done it today except I can't find the pictures I took of him right now, lol!  I must clean my apartment!  Well, it is clean, I just stored some things, and it is not totally organized.

Well, I guess that's about it for now.  Hope everyone is having a great week.

  1. Digital - my wife bought me a Kodak one (2megapixels) at Christmas. Put the batteries in and point and shoot.
    Dead easy.

    Glad everyone is safe.

  2. You are going to LOVE the digital world.  I look forward to seeing all the new pics we'll be seeing!  Most of the cameras are easy to operate and come with software.
    See ya.

  3. Hooray for the digital camera!  You will love it.  Since I went digital I have never gone back.  It's wonderful.  I am still learning about my camera and all it can do.

  4. Digital cameras are so good. The higher the pixel the better the resolution, that about sums up all I know about them though, lol.
I am so happy Frncis did not cause too much damage and loved ones are safe. I will pray Ivan is milder than the previous 2...........Jules xxx

  7. All right! I digi cam! I LOVE mine. Just one word of advice, never leave home with out it. Lol. It is so neat that you can take pictures galore and then view and print them in an instant! My favorite thing to do... upload your all time favorite ones to walmart.com to have prints made. You can have them delivered to the store of your choice and pay no shipping! All my other photos that I dont have printed get stored to cd's so I will always have all of them. Congrats on the decision.
I am glad to hear your family is okay. Let us know when you hear about the rest.

  9. Hi Krissy! If you get a 3 megapixel camera or better, you will have all the resolution you need. The Kodak EasyShare cameras are nice starter cameras. Easy to use, good quality photos. Get the optional "dock" and all you have to do is pop your camera on and the software does the rest, plus the camera battery gets recharged. Easy!

What I look for in a camera...A built-in flash, a nice size LCD screen so you don't have to use the viewfinder to take pics, a nice zoom (at least 6x optical), and a nice size memory card. I usually buy an extra battery and an extra memory card so I don't have to worry about recharging or running out of space to store photos when I am on vacation. Good luck!

  10. Good luck with the camera. I'm so bad at it. I used my daughter's digital and I always mess up.
Yes, we do have to pray for Florida again. They have been through so much.

  11. Hi! Thank you for visiting my journal and leaving the link to yours. I am enjoying my visit!

I am like you, I have been using disposable camera's. My problem is that I leave them laying aroudn or tuck them into a drawer after I am done and take forever in getting them developed, if I ever do. I still haven't developed the one from my best friends wedding back in June! But I AM goignt o get a digital camera in a few months, I hope. Maybe at income tax time.

Glad everyone made it through the hurricane ok.
