John's MDS isn't back!

Well, it's been crazy lately.  I haven't written in awhile because John was hospitalized again.  He spiked a fever.  I think his official diagnosis this time was infection of the blood.  He also was/is having problems with his kidneys.  At any rate, he is out now, and is doing a lot better.  He has to go to "Day Hospital" everday for a week or two and then we will see what happens after that.  Who knows, maybe we will actually be able to go home.  We shall see.

So today is a Red Letter Day.  Dr. Claxton came into Day Hospital today and told John that his MDS was NOT coming back.  Praise God!  His marrow is still thin but Dr. Claxton thinks it is from something else, maybe the meds he is taking...

Well, a lot has happened over the past several days, but I am too tired to write about it, and I have to get up at 7:30 AM to go to Day Hospital with John.  Don't worry, I haven't been up all night, I just woke up and decided to come out here and write this, LOL.  I wonder how long Day Hospital will last tomorrow.  Or should I say today.  Yesterday it lasted six hours and forty five minutes.  They had to put a new PICC line in John's arm because the old one stopped working.  So they did a little operation right there in Day Hospital.  It was called an "Exchange".  And John had a lot of other things done too.  He was kind of chipper today, because he got two units (two bags) of Red Pack Blood Cells yesterday.  Oops, I said I was not going to go into everything tonight, LOL.

Well, hope everybody is doing OK.  Keep smiling!  Krissy :)

  14. Right pleased, Krissy, that John's MDS is not back after all. It's a long road, but you're not alone. If only to judge by the comments in your journal.
    Best wishes from Scotland

  26. God bless you!  And many thanks that John's MDS is off the list!

I enjoy reading your entries, praying for you & John and imagining things like -- where was I for those 6 hours you were in the hospital?  Complaining about being at work?!  Sheez, puts it all in perspective for me now!  Shana

  28. You see? there is a god. It's been chaotic.I spent last week with friends helping paint and garden to get their new home ready for their house party. Rachel has no patience. I did the awkward stuff.
Transplanted natural geraniums from mine, feverfew, lemon balm, forget-me-nots and what i call spotty plants. I found lupins, bulbs, primroses and Welsh Poppies. They got transplanted where they will flourish. I also found what I thought was a shallow flower bed.Having dug out bloody hard core for an hour eventually re-filled it with fresh compost, and planted it up. On returning with water I found Sean's two dogs with a plant held gently in each mouth, tails wagging "you planted these things for us to dig up! "

I forgot to post Dad's birthday present, and that of one of my god daughters so rushed to the post office. Parcel post had gone. On to the next town...where i was in time- 8 mins to spare. Then to a garden centre to get a plant I’d seen whilst shopping for Rachel...it had gone. However I did get a beautiful bamboo planter light in weight, lovely to touch and beautiful in its textural design. needless to say, a plant was required, so got a delicate fern.

On my way home (nothing happens in the country; its all cows, sheep and horses) I saw a peacock. Let's do a re-take. Yep. Ok. I know of a guy who has peacocks so doubled back to his place. FINDING it was a challenge. Four houses and two lanes later found house, but not him. Got home and rang a pal. You know when you ring friends you say things like how are you, parents all ok?call for coffee. No answer so just me and the nice lady on the answering machine. "hiya ...you know Mark with the peacocks, is he missing one? because one is wandering along farmland about 2 miles away. Anyway...peacocks apart..hope this finds you well"

He rang later. Mark no longer has peacocks but he knows a man that does. We had a chat and he said call by for coffee. Out of peacocks....

    Thinking of you.
