Wow, it's been since Monday since I've written. I've had a major flare up of fibromyalgia, and I've had to take things slow. So please forgive me for not doing much.
I've gotten a lot of emails from you all asking how to install Sitemeter. In my stupidity, I have had a promblem being able to relay what I did. I say stupidity because I should've written down what I was doing as I installed. It would've been much easier doing that than trying to remember afterward. However, a few minutes ago I backtracked through a lot of Frequently Asked Questions and found a few helpful things. If you're still game at trying, check this page out:
SiteMeter KnowledgeCenter (This page explains how to add the SiteMeter to an AOL journal)
If you are going to do this, it will ask you the CODENAME you created. Finding your CODENAME you created when you started your Sitemeter is simple. This page explains where you can find your CODENAME:

If you have another blog site, such as Blogspot or Blogger.com, and want to add SiteMeter, please check this page out:

I hope that helps. One thing to remember. If the instructions ask you to post anything to a document, Easy Designer, or Clipboard, you don't have to do it. Simply post your HTML code into an email. Then when it is time to put the code in your sidebar (All About Me Section), copy and paste it in there. Don't forget to select HTML instead of TEXT, though, before copying it in. Then hit Save. This should work! Okay, Okay, LOL.

Krissy :)
oops, I forgot to say I'm so sorry you were attacked with the flare of fibromyalgia :( not fun at all

thanks Krissy! and what finally worked for me and Linda (fasttrack58) was that we had to not go in through AOL, but go in through Internet Explorer; for some reason AOL was blocking us to get to that account manager screen; once we did that, no problems! I checked yesterday and I had someone from Belgium reading mine! My sister is in Holland so I knew where that came from, but no idea about Belgium

Well, once again, Mrs Z gave up the fight. I went to site meter. Followed their instructions to the 't' and lo and behold ... nothing ... the space where I might have put the counter is there ... but no counter. Even though it'd be really cool, I'm done trying (three times is more than enough). But I do wish the rest of you success! LOL
ReplyDeleteI've been having a lot of fun looking at the sitemeter ... the other day I had someone from Spain looking at my business blog. They spent about 2 minutes looking at 3 pages. :-) Maybe they are from the states? Maybe a photoographer in Spain looking to see what American photographers are doing? I don't know but, it's fun. I like seeing what page they clicked into too - many times it's family of a couple going directly to their photos.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm glad you told us about it as I'm getting a LOT of use out of it. :-)

THX KRISSY....ADDED IT TO MINE

I followed the instructions and as far as I can tell it's been linked to my blog for about a week. BUT....it keeps sending me email reports that I have NO hits on my blog. But I know that's not true because people have left comments during that time. Linda in WA
ReplyDeleteThanks, sissy! Love, Val xox

Sorry to hear the fibromyalgia is flaring up on you dear friend. I think it's wonderful your helping everyone with the Sitemeter. I've had mine installed on my journal for some time now and find it to be far more reliable than AOL's. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteKrissy sorry to hear that the fibromyalgia has been acting up, you just take care of yourself dear and take it easy. Hope you and John have a nice weekend. Arlene (AJ)
ReplyDeleteI will try it again! Thanks for taking the time to explain all of this. Hope that fibro behaves itself; nasty little bugger!!
