Monday Morning Question
(Sorry this is a few hours late, I thought today was Sunday, lol):
What is the worst physical pain you have ever been in?
My Answer: Probably back pain from fibromyalgia. Actually, allover pain from fibromyalgia
What about you?
Hmm, I would have to say back pain after my hysterectomy many years ago.
ReplyDeleteKrissy,
ReplyDeleteOh My........ I'm going to answer this in my Journal today......This is a very good question today...... Love bunches LuAnne
I have to say my fibromyalgia pain came to mind at first but it has to be a close 2nd to the pain I had when I had all those breast abscesses and have to have a double mastectomy. They couldn't close the wounds because of infection and having them re packed everyday was like no pain I can describe. I had to have gas to get me through it and morphine straight afterwards.

When my appendix burst when I was 14...I had perintonitus and was very very ill...it was so painful they gave me morphine and I could still feel it.

oh my, maybe when I was in labor with Chelsea and right after my first brain surgery. Pretty equal. Thank God for my pain reliever! lol I can handle day-to-day pain when I compare it to the worst pain I have ever had. Interesting question, Krissy! Love, sissy xox
ReplyDeletewow this one really made me think. i've had my share of back pain due to a car accident, but i could still function, so i shouldn't complain. i've never had terrible cramps, broken anything but my small toe, or had anything more serious than a cavity. it could be a lot worse, so i'm backing out of this question. so many people have it worse off, like some of the other commenters. i admire you all for the things you've had to struggle with.
ReplyDeleteMine is a pain in the neck every time my kids ring up and ask after my health - know they are on the scrounge for something lol!!
ReplyDeleteLove Sylvia
Physical pain? Have to say that I have been lucky, and the worst I've had was giving birth to J-man, with a sort of semi-working epidural!!
ReplyDeleteSara x
This is nothing compared to most of the comments but, I had my tonsils and adnoids out before third grade. My throat was sore for a few weeks. I'm lucky that's the worst pain I've had.

How many pages can I write! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say my worst was peritinitis from a cyst that broke in my stomach years ago. It was worse than childbirth.
I hope they find something for fibromyalgia soon. God bless you.
Angela
One word.....childbirth. I passed the window to have the anethesia, so it was as natural as it gets. Ouch ouch and double ouch!
ReplyDeleteChildbirth was a breeze compared to when I broke my back (4 bones). Every step I took sent waves of shocking pain that would cause me to break a sweat.
ReplyDeleteback pain, hands down!
ReplyDeleteHMM HAVE TOSAY WHEN I HAD MY HYSETOMY AND SOMETHING WENT WRONG AND I BLEW UP LIKE A BALLOON...WAS EVEN BIGGER IN STOMACH THEN WHEN I GAVE BIRTH TO MY DAUGHTER...HAD ENOUGH GAS IN THERE TO FILL TEXAS ...WAS MY WORSE PAIN EVER ..COULDNT WALK ,,COULDNT SIT AND TOO EVEN HAVE 7 PILLOWS IN THE HOSPITAL BED IN EVER SPOT U THINK OF THIS LASTED FOR 9 DAYS OMG 9 DAYS OF THE WORSE PAIN EVER I HAVE ENDOWED

The worst was the kidney stones. Absolute worst! Penny
ReplyDeletewell I have pancreatic cancer, so as of late the pain from that is unbareable, although I have had kidney stones. I guess it's a tie.
ReplyDeleteThe worst pain I was ever in was I was ten years old...Two young men that were working on our property kidnapped, raped and beat me into submission. this lasted for several hours! I suppressed it until recently...when it finally came to my consciousness, I felt the pain as if were happening at that moment. A truly terrifying experience. I am just glad I lived to tell about it.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say when I had an infection in my jaw that triggered Trigeminal neuralgia . The whole side of my head and face were drawn and in such extreme pain that I passed out and had to be rushed to the ER. The Dr said, the Trigeminal neuralgia caused stroke like conditions with out the actual stroke taking place and that it is an extremely painful condition, hmm no kidding. Even after 2 vicodin and a pain shot in the ER, I still had seering pain. It was the worse time I have ever had, with 4 episodes total.
ReplyDeleteHmm! Probably when my ovary went necrotic from lack of blood flow due to being crushed by a massive ovarian cyst...I threw up, collapsed from the pain and couldn't walk...came close to passing out. I might have said post-operative pain when I woke with an 18 inch incision held closed with staples...but I was on morphine. So that pain was cut somewhat. I have a big belly, so every slight movement I made would cause my belly flab to shift and it felt like my staples were about to rip apart. Ouch! You have no idea how much you use your stomach muscles to move until you don't have them available anymore. I didn't start to feel like I had almost fully recovered from that whole experience for over 2 years. Even now, 7 years later, I still don't feel I ever came back 100%. Abdominal surgery messes you up! Anyone else have a catheter in for more than 3 days? Scar tissue from that is a bitch! I feel like a 70 year old man with a prostate problem. LOL
ReplyDeleteI had an infection of the joints many years ago. I woke up one morning to find I could barely move and when I did , it was so very painful. The Doc or hospital never found the true cause, but it took 5 months to recover. I truly dread it recurring. Sandra x
ReplyDeleteWow from the looks of the number of comments, everyone loves to talk about their pains!!!!!! I will have to say my worst pains were childbirth. I had PreTeen on Christmas Day. The anestheisiologist was eating Christmas Dinner with his family (no where near me!). They told me he was on his way to give me the epidural. I thought they meant - coming down the hallway with his little medicine cart - but noooooooooooooooooo. He was on his way down some interstate in a snow shower! His name was Charlie. If PreTeen had been a boy, I'd have named him "Charlie" b/c I was so happy he was there, when he got there. The family still teases me how I threatened the nurses that I would sue someone, b/c I had a right to an epidural and couldn't get one until waaay late. Well, I finally did and things went quickly from there. LOL! They brought PreTeen back out to me in a big red stocking. Santa has filled the same stocking each year for PreTeen with lots of goodies!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what my worst pain was...giving birth to my children..that by far, was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.
ReplyDeletegreat question...
ReplyDeletemine is in the same lines as yours...i also have fibro...and arthritis...they treat me for the arthritis and dont even talk about the fibro...but its always in the back of my mind...between the 2 i am in a constant pain that is many days almost inbearble...i could write a book about all my aches and pains...i dont talk too much about it though online or at home...my family is sick of hearing me complain...i sometimes think its all in my head...i am thankful i dont have pain in my head though! i hope u have a good day..and thanks for this question..
