I just woke up from a nap.
Yes, I took one in the middle of the day, because I have been so exhausted lately. It's been the sleep apnea. Not being able to breathe has awoken me so many times during the night each night. I know this because each time I can't breathe I have awoken gasping for air. John hears me gasping for air, and then moaning, many times during my sleep each night.
My CPAP sleep apnea mask finally arrived from the FEDEX man today. And I quickly put it on, and set the CPAP machine to blow air through the tubing into my mouth and nose. Then I took a nap.
I'll tell you right now, it was the best sleep I've had in years and years!
John said he kept checking on me because he wanted to make sure I was okay, I was sleeping so soundly!
He said Michael was with me the whole time making sure I was okay. Now I have a kitty who will chew through the hose if I need him to, LOL.
I didn't panic with the mask on, although it was pretty scary when I first started the machine. But I was able to immediately relax and fall asleep. And then I slept so refreshingly! I'm really going to be liking this thing!
Love you all,
Krissy :)
Glad to hear that it worked great and you got a great nap. :-) God Bless, Janie
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great Krissy! You'll probably be amazed at all of the energy you will have now that you will be able to get a good night's sleep!!
ReplyDeleteWOW I'm jealous. I believe I need on of those too. My sleeping is for the birds right now. Terrible. Going the whole day exhausted takes its toll on your body. I'm so happy that this is working for you. After you get a couple of days of sleep in a row you're gonna be a new woman. So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Chrissie

That's good news. And I'm glad Michael isn't put off by the machine. How about John, did he head for the couch to get away from the noise? I have several girlfriends who's husbands have them and they put the husbands in the spare room at night so they (the wives) can get some sleep. Linda in WA

It is amazing ... how alike we are. I am in remission from sleep apnea. Yes, it happens. I needed a new machine. Mine was 12 years old and outdated. So I went (again) to a sleep lab. They had an article from a health magazine ... saying 'most cases go into remission around 55 years of age'. I WAS 65. So was excited when told that I was in remission and if I did not sleep flat on my back (never had) that I did not need a machine. When I requested a perscription anyway, just in case ... they refused.
ReplyDeleteOur oldest daughter travels with me and the lab was 5 hours from home. She told me not to worry because the last few nights in the motel, sleeping on my right side, I had no episodes. >>>I HAD 547 IN A 7 HOUR TEST, THE FIRST TIME I WAS TESTED.<<< Am glad you are feeling better and getting some rest. AND I do understand; I have been there ... and FALLING ASLEEP IN CHURCH WAS MY BIGGEST NIGHTMARE. The kids and hubby kept an eye on me ... and punched me in the ribs before I snored. ;*-} DIEU TE BENISSE!!! Cajun Sissy

Sleep tight Krishttp://journals.aol.com/adlessor/ACoupleofNomads/sy. So glad you have found some help. Dawn
ReplyDeleteI'm VERY pleased the machine is working its miracle for you, Krissy :-)
ReplyDeleteIt won't take long to get used to. If you get at least 5 hours a night using the machine, you'll be 100% compliant with treatment. I'm so glad you got some refreshing sleep. Isn't it wonderful?
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
D
That is wonderful. I love long afternoon naps to get missing night rest. My husband does the moaning and holding his breath. He is overweight right now trying to lose some weight so his breathing is better at night.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the machine!
