Monday Morning Question:
What is your favorite sitcom that is shown on Nick At Nite or TV Land? Translation for those of you in the UK: What is your favorite TV situation comedy from the 60s through the 80s?
My favorite is the Odd Couple. It starred Jack Klugman and Tony Randall.
What is yours?
I guess I'd say, "Cheers" because I still laugh at Sam Malone. : )
ReplyDeleteBut a close second would be "All In The Family."

Seinfeld even though I know them all by heart, and of course after all these years M*A*S*H. We had a Lucy impersonator come to the old folks home and use the Lucy sound track and do live the whole Vita-Meata-Vegemins routin, perfectly lip sync'd. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree--Cheers is the best!

Oh, I loved The Odd Couple, I met Oscar Madison once in an elevator in Atlantic City (25 years ago), he seemed like a pretty warm kind of guy.

Oh, Krissy, this is hard! I really loved the Odd Couple, too! I like watching these old sitcoms today. I find myself liking ones today and re-visiting them and they were not the same ones that were my favorites back then. I really like "I Love Lucy". I loved "The Brady Bunch" when I was a child, but I don't watch that much nowadays. "Seinfeld" is great, but that is more '90's I guess. I even watch "Leave It To Beaver" sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOooh! So many to choose from - Terry and June, Are you being served, Butterflies, The Good Life, Only Fools and Horses etc! My absolute favourite though, without a doubt, has to be Fawlty Towers. I know each episode inside out and backwards!! :o)
ReplyDeleteI know they're all British, and you won't have heard of them, but it made me smile to remember them all, thanks Krissy!!

Only Fools and Horses. It was brilliant. David Jason could have been born to the part of Del Boy.

i don't know about older sitcoms, but one show i really miss is today's special. you know that one with the manequin and the mouse that live in a dept show. now we get to watch shows like teletubbies, and boobah.
ReplyDeleteOoo hard one. Um. Love The Brady Bunch...Full House...I also love it when they put the old Saturday morning series on (Sigmund and the Seamonsters, Land of the Lost, H.R. Puffnstuff...)
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I didn't get to watch much TV as a child, I still don't watch much TV to this day. I remember the Odd Couple and enjoyed the shows I saw, same for Cheers which I saw listed. Now Fawlty Towers ... CLASSIC! When my children were younger I discovered Nick at Night and started watching Bewitched and I Dream of Jeanne. Those were funny and light hearted.
