Monday Morning Question:
If you could have a career change right now, and do anything you wanted to, what would it be?
My answer: I can't work right now, because I am disabled, but if I could, well, there is at least ten things that I can think of that I would like to do. But I am going to pick just one. An ESL teacher. Or something in the ESL field involving teaching English as a second language to people. I did this in a volunteer capacity a number of years back and enjoyed it immensely. It was extremely rewarding.
What would you choose to do?
HELLO THIS EARLY MORNING...

Well, I do not work and have not done for years (except in the home). If I could have done what I really wanted, I would have been a vet. Have a happy week Krissy xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I would love to have a successful internet business and work from home. :-)
ReplyDeleteDo anything I wanted?
ReplyDeleteTee hee!!
I would be a super hero of course, zapping around the world, saving peoples lives, preventing disaster wherever I roamed - in a shiny purple super hero outfit, with a silver cape!

I too am on disability but if I could do anything in the world, I would like to carry on the wonderful work Princess Diana did. I would love to go out to orphanages and help and make a difference. I am no princess but I just want to help those less fortunate than myself..............Jules xxx

I don't work, but I am going to go to school, soon. I have narrowed my career choices down to: Criminal Justice, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, or Personal Trainer. Varied, huh? I have a reason for each! JAE
ReplyDeleteI am a part-time postal worker, very boring and I`ll be redundant after Christmas so I will be looking for something else anyway. I would really like to work with animals so I think I will give it a try...Sandra x
ReplyDeleteI am disabled also. Boy this is a very hard question. I wish I had alot of money so I could go around volunteering wherever the need is greatest. I want to help people...
ReplyDeleteI would want to work for Veggie Tales, doing both voice overs and writing crazy songs for them. I am so crazy sometimes and have come up with some fun stuff. That would be the ultimate job for me. Not only would I be singing, which is what I love, I would also be able to help make god and bible stories known to the public.
ReplyDeleteI would care for AIDS babies. I have lots of love to give and all the time in the world since I, too, am disabled.
ReplyDeleteI would stay in HR but have someone else do the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring - LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know, I know....can I have another shot at this? I've changed my mind. Meteorology....not on TV...just study the storms all day on the computer. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAh...easy one. I'd have oodles of money and spend all my free time giving it away to people in need. Too far fetched? Ok then. I'd love to be a professional photographer. I'd have my own studio and do weddings and such, and portraits of people, babies and animals. I'd also love to do art photography and be shown in a gallery. Yeah. Maybe someday. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be a professional photograher and videographer, and travel the world filming all the beautiful places most will never get to enjoy. But to be practical, I would be a Social Studies teacher, then I could teach about all those places!
ReplyDeleteI am a full time carer to my husband but if I had the chance I would like to work as a psychiatric nurse.... Not really a 'career' change, as my husband suffers from manic depression, amongst other ailments. Because of his illness and my own personal forays into mental illness (depression and seasonal affective disorder), I feel I have the understanding and patience needed. Alternatively I would spend my time educating the general public about mental illness. It is the 'Cinderella' branch of medicine and very misunderstood by many people. People who have not had first hand experience/knowledge of mental illness tend to be frightened by it. That is wrong. Mental illness is what it says....just an illness like any other.

WOW... ESL teacher is the same career that my daughter wants out of life. That's cool!

Admirable, an ESL teacher! It doesn't surprise me that you would do something so needed, something that would effect lives of others. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for myself ... duh, a PHOTOGRAPHER! One who makes real money. LOL
Monica
That's great. HOw nice that you did this on a volunteer basis.

I would like to do tons of new things. But I'll pick the funnest thing to me -- I would be an award winning singer. Mostly folk songs but some rock and roll and some Christian songs. That would be fantastic! Arielle Marie

My career change would be to that of a leading liver specialist and cure my hubby. If only it could come true. Will just have to rely on the Doctors at the transplant unit and hope they can come up with a cure befor his transplant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading my journal and your comments. You have no idea how much it means to hear from people out in journal land and know that they are thinking of you.
Love and blessings Joyce
If I could change my career, I would run a youth group and be founder of an academy for talent less fortunate youngsters.
