Michael, my cat, just tapped on the blinds in my bedroom. That's what he does when he wants me to raise them, so he can look outside. So I raised the blinds, and went back and sat down at my computer. Michael likes to watch the birds outside the window, and the bird feeder is right outside the window.
That's when John called me to look outside. "It's snowing!" he gasped. I couldn't believe it. I know it's cold in Central PA, but sheesh!
Sometimes I wonder if I am going to make it through this winter, and it is only November, LOL. This year so far it has been particularly hard. So cold, and I am not getting acclimated. Usually, other years, the cold comes slowly and I get used to it. This year, every day, I am just chilled to the bone. I hope I will be able to adjust soon. It doesn't matter how warm I bundle.
And now snow!
Krissi English weather has been so sunny and mild so far this year,it's been unbelievable. .This week it has realy changed and we are now all feeling it,I think. It is freezing right now,but I am the coldest of people always.I have had the central heating on all day long and I am still frozen LOL so theres a pair of us Haaaa.Brrrrrrrrrr .I will be sleeping in my overcoat tonight if it doesn't warm up a bit Haaaaaa.I hope you can soon feel warmer. Please try and keep that snow to yourself will you,I love it on postcards but that is all LOL!! Have a lovely weekend,I hope John is well.Prayers continueing for you both.Take Care God Bless Kath

You are so lucky (even if you don't think so). I would love to see actual snow falling here. Its been years since we have gotten a real snow. We are warm here during the days, but chilly at night.
ReplyDeleteGreg
It's turned more than a bit chilly here today - and this evening it's raining - cats and dogs! We've had fog, frost, torrential rain and northerly winds high enough to blow yer socks off; amongst the odd sunny spell this week. I'm in hibernation mode - half "with it" as usual! Keep laughing.

Had some flurries myself yesterday, but it's a bit milder today. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHere in south eastern pa we could have rain mixed with snow later tonight. I'm not looking forward to it. It's too early for any type of snow.
ReplyDeleteMissie
keep your snow in PA...please do not send it to NY!
ReplyDeleteBecky
I am 53 years old and I have never seen snow. I would like to see snow even just once for the experience. I do not think I would like it as I am not used to the cold so that when ever it even gets to below 70 degrees I feel like I am freezing. So tell me more about snow and winter. I have also never seen a true fall like in the pictures of all the leaves on the trees changing colors, now that looks like an amazing site I would like to experience first hand.
ReplyDeleteVerna
I just told my mom about the snow. She's in shock! Tomorrow's my 28th birthday. Wouldn't it be funny if for the first time in 28 years on the planet I got snow for my birthday? How cool! -Dawn-
ReplyDelete((((((((((((((((((((KRISSY)))))))))))))))))))))))))))I hope you will be able to get used to the cold soon enough.Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'll trade you some sunhine for some snow.
ReplyDeleteCiao from Fla.....Brenda
Yah, pretty soon I won't see the leaves that need raking in my yard. I am not looking forward to the snow and mess. Take a nice warm tub bubble bath. Hope you warm up soon.

We had snow a couple of days ago here in Ohio, and it has been cold. I've been wearing the layers and it seems to help. When winter comes I'll add another one. I usually wind up with 4 layers and feel so bulky that I can hardly move. More and more I do not like cold weather. Hope you don't get much snow and warm up some. 'On Ya' - ma
ReplyDeleteKrissy thanks for the memories of PA, was born Sharon, PA right on the OH and PA borderline, so I sure know what snow is like...don't get much here in SC, maybe once each year, but when it comes I love it. Keep warm, enjoy the snow for me. Have a good weekend. Arlene (AJ)
ReplyDeleteShow? And here I am out in shirt sleeves looking at blooming roses. Come to California.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are able to adjust to the weather soon also. I know what's it is like though. I am hot and then cold and then freezing and the menopause doesn't help. (giggle). Hugs. Tish G.

ReplyDeleteOh Krissy, I know how you feel about being chilled to the bone. Seems like I am always cold. There is snow on top of the mountains but not in the valley yet. But there will be. Seems like the weather skipped over Fall and into cold winter.
I wear long underware and sleep with an electric blanket and my cats have to sleep snuggled against me so we all keep warm.
Take care and tell John Hi for me.......You have lost weight so maybe that is why you are chilled alot. anyway here is a warm hug........Love Myke

ReplyDeleteOMG I love the snow and cold weather! Here in Sunny Florida it's pretty cool but no where near freezing! I bet Michael liked looking out the window at the snow. Hey maybe we could switch places lol J/K.
ReplyDeleteI hope you bundle up and can get warm to the bone.
HUGS~Donna
I always accept Squash Soup recipes. Send freely.
ReplyDeleteI still have the same journal... I just changed the name so I wouldn't get sued. I have a new job, with this paper...www.capecodtoday.com... I'm "East Of Boston."
Good to see that we keep the same hours.
when i lived in kansas, i saw summer snow...it was early september and it was coming down so hard in that wind it was blowing horizontal! it was fascinating. we don't see much snow here in alabama. i'm not complaining! :)
ReplyDeletegina
Argh, Krissy, I feel for you! No snow here in Indiana yet, but it's been pretty cool in the mornings. I feel like a wimp, but I've already started wearing my winter parka! I really do not like being cold.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this might be a good weekend for a big pot o' chili. Stay warm!
Beth
It snowed here also. I hate that damp chill. Nothing seems to warm me either. It gets harder each year for me to adjust to the darkness and the cold. Love to you, Chris
ReplyDeleteI'm never going to see snow again. lol It never snows in Fl. Oh well. I'm still knitting a scarf. lol Maybe I'll send it you. You need it more than me. : ) love ya honey bunny!! Shelly
ReplyDeleteyikes. I only like snow at Christmas and only for that one day myself.
ReplyDeleteKrissy, you're going to to have dress like I do this time of the year. Socks, slippers (I don't like to wear shoes in the house), sweatpants, t-shirt and a flannel shirt over the t-shirt. Then if I have to go out, I just change into jeans & a better blouse and of course a coat. And there's always long underwear. That works too. It's hard this time of the year to stay warm and keep the heat bills down at the same time. We've been lucky so far, only a few nights where the temp has dipped real low. Most days it's been in the high 40's or 50's. Snuggle John and dress warm....Linda in western Washington state
ReplyDeleteSnow way! LOL It is very nice here in Phoenix. Move yourself here if you don't want snow. LOL Have a cool weekend.
ReplyDeletePhil
SNOW!!!! Can you send some over to Los Angeles???
ReplyDeleteStay Warm,
Joann
I am so cold this season, too, for some reason, and I have NO OIL! I am using stupid space heaters. I am still waiting on LIHEAP to come in. UGH. Love, Val xox

It`s cold here too and it might even show us some snow soon too!! it`s freezing here in Scotland.
ReplyDeletebella xx
Hi Krissy,
ReplyDeleteSorry you're having problems acclimating to winter this year. Hope you can soon so you won't be so miserable & use the snow for its intended purpose - PLAY!! Yea, I'm just a big kid!!
Dirk
I feel the same way to...any other year I love the cold so I can bundle up and be cozy...this year it feels different...cold to the bone and can't get warm. They were calling for snow showers here to but they never came....June:)
ReplyDeleteI like snow long enough to ski in it at Vail or Tahoe and after that, I want to see palm trees. Heat doesn't bother me, but I am quite useless in the cold.
ReplyDeletePossum S. Hemmingway says hello to Michael, you and John (and he specifically asked me to put the names in that order). Possum just sits next to me and meows until I wake up. After his work is accomplished, he goes back to sleep.

That is so great that the cat can tap on the blinds.... ours has taken to attacking the fish tank lately. Stay warm!!!! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteLisa
Your cat has a cute habit and smart too. I could trade you a few rays of sunshine for a few snowballs. Guess if I lived where it snows I would get cabin fever real fast. Keep warm, Paula
ReplyDeleteyikes snow!!!
ReplyDeleteIt snowed here in NY yesterday morning. I actually love the snow. Pickles doesn't want to come in when it snows, she loves pouncing every square inch of my yard until none of it is left disturbed. As for the cold, I think it's a little harder on my now with the Carpel Tunnel in both wrist. I love curling up with sweaters, and a blanket with hot chocolate. Keeping you and John in my thoughts and prayers on the smoke. (Hugs) Indigo
ReplyDeleteRose here, from Vancouver. Yes, the weather has turned pretty cold here as well, and I can see snow already on the mountaintops. Heard that we'll be getting quite a lot this year. Your Michael sounds like one smart cat. Funny how they like to tell us humans what is on their minds. Like you, I'm not ready for the cold this year. Hec, our summer was the pits, so my mind is still waiting for sunshine and iced tea, lol. Maybe I should check out those travel brochures . . .
ReplyDeleteWOW! Snow already??!!! It's certainly colder now, than it was this time last year...but I don't expect to see snow quite this soon. In fact, probably not at all. So I'm told it NEVER snows here in Anderson. Make some tea and snuggle up! Love and Hugs ~ Irene http://journals.aol.com/alwaysireneann/meet-me-at-the-breakfast-table
ReplyDeleteI love Pennsylvania when it's warm out. I don't like anything cold, particularly Chicago. It's just now getting cold here. Today is Thursday, and yesterday was the very first cold day. It broke freezing. Stay warm and take care.

Yeap! that's Al Gore's global warming for you! And dont forget about all thos forest firest out west. Those become global black spots, which absorb heat and cause hot spots, which create up drafts, which cause hurricanes. There will definetly be a weather patern change! I bet the Gore people love it!
